Know Nothing Party Flag

The Know-Nothing party was a political organization that was popular in the 1840’s & 50’s throughout America. Its platform promoted the restriction of immigration and naturalization of foreign-born people, specifically Irish Catholic immigrants. A vehicle for the party’s involvement in Milwaukee was their newspaper, the Daily American.
