Abstract: Evinrude was an American business magnate and the Chairman of Outboard Marine Corporation. His wife was the singer and entertainer Frances Langford. His father created Elto Outboard Motor Company after developing the first commercially feasible outboard motor and took over the company after his father’s passing in 1934. In 1936 the company merged with Johnson Motor Company to form Outboard Marine Corporation.
