Historical Note:
Jacob Kornely started a hardware store on May 1, 1891 at what was then 804 N. 3rd Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  His youngest son, Raymond C. Kornely, took over the business after the death of his father in 1933 and operated it under the address of 2308 N. 3rd Street until he sold the property to the National Hardware Company for warehouse space in 1975.

Abstract:
The collection consists of business correspondence, contracts, agreements, invoices, clippings, advertisements, trade magazine, ledger, and personal items.  The collection also contains material relating to other Milwaukee companies.

Administrative Note:
The collection was processed on April 7, 1993 by Steve Daily.  The finding aid was retyped on September 27, 2011.
