Voter Registration Information
2025 Spring Primary Election: Tuesday, February 18th, 2025
2025 Spring General Election: Tuesday, April 1st, 2025
To register in Wisconsin, you must:
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be a resident of Wisconsin for at least 28 days before an election.
- Be at least 18 years old
- Not have been convicted of treason, felony or bribery, or if you have, your voting rights have been restored.
- Not be incapable of understanding the objective of the elective process and be declared incompetent by the state or be under guardianship, unless the court has determined you are competent to vote.
- Not have placed a bet or wager on the result of the election.
WI Voter Registration Deadlines:
- In Person: The Friday before Election Day, but voters may also register on Election Day.*
- By Mail: Postmarked at least 20 days before Election Day.
- Return registration applications to the election office in City Hall, 200 E. Wells Street, Room 501, Milwaukee, WI 53202
- City Hall Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. They are closed for staff in-service from 1:00pm to 2:00pm Monday through Friday.
- Online: 20 days before Election Day, visit My Vote WI.
*Individuals are able register to vote in person at your polling place on Election Day. All individuals must provide both a proof of residency document and proof of identification to register on election Day.
