Annual Conservation Circle Fundraising Event

February 1, 2025
1-3pm

The Event

Join us for the first-ever MCHS annual fundraising event dedicated to preservation—both in person and online!

Enjoy a wine bar while exploring five rare historical objects in need of conservation, each with a compelling story. Whether you attend in person or join virtually, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact by funding the preservation of these valuable pieces of Milwaukee’s history.

Our curator will deliver an exclusive talk about these artifacts, sharing the details of their significance and the urgent need for conservation. This special presentation will also be streamed live for our virtual attendees.

Together, we can ensure Milwaukee’s past is preserved for future generations.

2025 Focus

In 2025, efforts will concentrate on very specific and vulnerable pieces of the collection. Professional conservation work is not cheap, but it is necessary to stabilize, preserve, restore, and protect these historically significant treasures. The pieces selected for conservation this year include an early Billie the Brownie figure from Schuster’s department store that needs to be restrung and repaired, materials to create custom boxes for our Milwaukee architectural models, and funding to stabilize and repair one of the Stations of the Cross from Milwaukee’s Our Lady of Pompeii Church (the Little Pink Church).
