Brewed for special occasions and holidays, bock style beer originates from Germany. First brewed in the 14th century by monks in the Einbeck region, the dark, malty style of beer was adopted by brewers in Munich. Here the name eventually adapted to that of Ein Bock, literally translating to “a billy goat”. To this day an image of a goat often appears on the labels of a “bock” beers.
