Abstract: William Furton was born in England in 1796 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1832.  He was living in Milwaukee by 1846.

Scope and Content: The collection consists of various receipts (one from Byron Kilbourn), a Declaration of Intent for naturalization, and several letters to Elizabeth Furton from John Ward and Thomas Tinker, who served in Tennessee and Mississippi respectively during the Civil War.
