Blatz Stained Glass Window

M2007.063.347
Date Unknown

Circular stained glass window with six point star; yellow, red, green, blue, purple colors; hops leaf with Valentine Blatz Brewing Co. trademark in center.

Originally established as the Valentin Blatz Brewing Company in 1850, Blatz merged with City Brewery in 1852. The company was the first to produce individually bottled beer in Milwaukee and became its third largest brewer by the 1900s. Since 1958, the company has been bought out several times—from Pabst, to G. Heileman Brewing Company, to the Stroh Brewing Company and the Miller Brewing Company, and finally back to Pabst in 2007.
