Abstract: Started in 1911 by Carl William Moebius in partnership with his uncle, Julius King, this Third Ward Milwaukee printing company went through a period of growth until the mid-thirties.  Forced to sell the business, Carl soon established a new Moebius Printing Company after taking over the Lisbon Press.  Company growth and expansion increased over the years under the leadership of Carl and his four sons, Carl Jr., Frank, Howard, and Ken.  Ownership passed from the Moebius family to a group of Milwaukee investors in March of 1987.  Financial difficulties weakened the company and it was forced to file for bankruptcy in April 1994.  Plans of an employee buyout failed and the company was forced to close May 7, 1994.
