Pabst glass bottle label with blue background and gold border. The Pabst trademark is along the top in red, white, and blue. Below the yellow and red product name the drink is advertized as “A Delightfully Pure And Pleasing Drinking Water, Bottled by Pabst Milwaukee, U.S.A., Copyright 1923”.
During Prohibition American breweries were under stress to survive without producing their, now illegal, alcoholic beverages. Half of America’s breweries would no longer be in business following Prohibitions end in 1933. Pabst survived this era by producing cheese known as Pabst-ette, low alcohol beverages and tonics, as well as Artesia bottled drinking water.
