Pabst 1904 World’s Fair Award

In addition to promoting their product with a large display at the World’s Fair in St. Louis, the Pabst Brewing Company also presented their Percheron horse teams for exhibition during the fair’s draft horse show. During the display, Pabst won ten first prizes for individual horses and its six-horse hitch team. Interestingly enough, no other breweries, either locally from St. Louis or elsewhere decided to enter their horses against Pabst. After the fair, Pabst decided to commemorate the event by creating a large, textile display that was framed, forever documenting the company’s victory.
